What is your Company Authentication Code?
Your Company Authentication Code is a 6 character alphanumeric code issued to you by the Companies House when your company is incorporated. It acts as an electronic signature for your company and it must be provided every time you wish to file electronic documents or change any of your company details.
Regardless of how your company is formed, via Companies House or a third party, you will receive a letter from Companies House, sent to your registered companies address, which will contain the Company Authentication Code.
It is a very important code and it should be guarded safely, such that it only can be accessed by people who have the authority to change your company's details.
What to do if you lost your Code?
You can request a reminder online via the Companies House WebFiling portal here. Although if it's a matter of urgency, beware that Companies house currently advise that it can take up to 5 days for your code reminder letter to arrive.
Alternatively, if you're a client of ours, just let us know that you can't find your code and we will be able to request it on your behalf. However, note that it can still take up to 5 days your code to arrive in the mail to your registered company address.
