Cash Accounting

Cash basis accounting recognizes revenue when cash is received, and expenses when they are paid. It does not recognize accounts receivable or accounts payable. However, many small businesses decide to opt for this method because it provides a simple way to track transactions and the amount of cash available at any given point in time.
